Fundación Jocotoco — Reserves for Ecuador's Rarest Birds

Founded in 1998 to save the newly discovered Jocotoco Antpitta, Fundación Jocotoco has built a network of reserves across Ecuador's most threatened habitats. Its lands protect endangered birds alongside reptiles, amphibians, and rare mammals such as spectacled bears and jaguars. The foundation acquires biodiversity hotspots and manages them for long-term conservation and research.
