Community-Owned Solar Micro-Grids for Rural India

Gram Oorja designs, installs, and helps communities operate solar micro-grids in remote Indian villages with no grid access, with local committees, often led by women, collecting tariffs and managing upkeep so systems remain sustainable long-term. As of late 2025, the company has installed solar micro-grids across roughly 150 villages, electrifying more than 6,200 households, alongside solar irrigation pumps for smallholder farmers.
