Mr. Trash Wheel

Mr. Trash Wheel is a semi-autonomous, solar- and hydro-powered trash interceptor stationed at the mouth of Baltimore's Jones Falls river, run by the Waterfront Partnership of Baltimore. With its cartoonish googly eyes it became a beloved mascot while scooping up litter, plastic, and debris before it reaches the harbor and ocean. The Trash Wheel Family collects roughly 500 tons of trash each year, and had cleared over 2,000 tons since 2014.
