Project Seagrass — Restoring the UK's Underwater Meadows

Founded in 2013 and headquartered in Bridgend, Wales, Project Seagrass works to secure a future for seagrass meadows, one of the planet's most powerful yet overlooked carbon-storing ecosystems. With partners including WWF and Swansea University it has pioneered large-scale seed collection and planting across Wales, the Solent, and the Firth of Forth. The charity has set a target of restoring 3,000 hectares of UK seagrass by 2030.
