Sea Shepherd

Sea Shepherd operates a fleet of ships on campaigns against illegal fishing, whaling, and habitat destruction, often in partnership with national governments. Its long-running Vaquita Defense campaign in Mexico's Upper Gulf of California removes illegal gillnets from the refuge of the world's most endangered marine mammal; in February 2026 the organization reported 572 marine animals freed from illegal nets.
