Sheldrick Wildlife Trust

Founded in 1977 by Dame Daphne Sheldrick in Nairobi, the Sheldrick Wildlife Trust runs the world's most successful orphaned elephant rescue and rehabilitation program, alongside anti-poaching, aerial surveillance, and habitat protection across Kenya. Rescued calves are hand-raised at its nurseries and gradually reintegrated into protected wild herds. The Trust has successfully raised more than 320 orphaned elephants, and dozens of babies have since been born to rewilded orphans.
