SOIL Haiti

Since 2006, SOIL has provided ecological sanitation in Haiti through its EkoLakay household toilet service, collecting waste weekly and transforming it into safe agricultural compost at its treatment facilities. The service now reaches about 4,000 households — roughly 19,000 people — in cities like Cap-Haitien, and produces over 200 tons of compost each year that is sold to farmers and businesses. The model provides dignified sanitation in dense urban neighborhoods where sewers do not exist.
