Solar Sister

Solar Sister recruits, trains, and supports women in Tanzania, Nigeria, and Kenya to build businesses selling solar lanterns and clean cookstoves in last-mile, off-grid communities. As of late 2023 it had trained more than 9,900 entrepreneurs whose products have reached over 4.3 million people, while mitigating more than a million tonnes of CO2e. Every dollar invested is estimated to generate about ten dollars of local economic impact.
