Warka Water, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded by Italian architect Arturo Vittori, builds hand-woven bamboo-and-mesh towers that passively collect drinking water from the air. The first pilot tower was installed in Dorze, Ethiopia in 2015 and can harvest up to 100 liters per day, and the organization later built the Warka Village for the Baka community in Cameroon. Its work continues with new initiatives including projects in Tanzania.
